Note: This is a multipurpose website. Some sections of the site may be disregarded during the registration process. There is NO cost to volunteer and a promotional code doesn't need to be applied.

Packet Pick up
Volunteers will distribute registration packets during Packet Pickup at the United States Patent and Trade Office in Alexandria, Virginia. Additionally, volunteers may assist in unpacking and sorting finisher medals. At the end of Packet Pickup, volunteers assists with clean up and repack all supplies. Refreshments will be provided. This location is within walking distance of the Eisenhower Metro Station.
VOLUNTEERS WILL REPORT TO THE VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN TENT AT THE FINISH FESTIVAL LOCATED IN OLD TOWN, ALEXANDRIA AT BRIDGEYARD APARTMENTS.
Runner Only Food and Beverage Station
Volunteers will unpack bottled beverages, packaged snack food & whole fruit and set it out on tables located inside the Runner Only Secure Zone for runners to consume as they cross the Finish Line. Volunteers will monitor supplies to ensure that only runners have access and that portions are controlled.
Finisher Medal Distribution
Volunteers unpack, display and distribute finisher medals to each runner as they cross the finish line.
Baggage Hold Area
Volunteers will collect checked bags, organize and stage for easy retrieval. After crossing the finish line, runners will present their race bib number to claim their checked bag from the volunteers.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older to work in this area. Volunteers will collect beverage tickets, pour and serve beer, and may be asked to ID check those who appear younger than 21.
T-Shirt Exchange/Lost & Found
Volunteers will exchange t-shirt sizes to the extent possible given the available inventory. Volunteers will also accept Lost & Found items. At the end of the event all unclaimed Lost & Found items will be returned to the Volunteer Coordinator at the Volunteer Check-In & Runner Assistance/Information Tent.
Volunteer Check-in & Runner Assistance/Information Tent
This area will serve as the check in location for all arriving volunteers, as well as, the Runner Assistance/Information tent for all runners pre and post race. Those staffing this area must be knowledgeable about all aspects of the event in order to properly inform both volunteers and runners. Volunteers in this area will wear many hats. In addition, to the previously mentioned items, volunteers support ad hoc requests under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator.
